A barograph is a barometer that records the barometric pressure over time in graphical form. This scientific instrument is also used to make a continuous recording of atmospheric pressure.Context
The maker of this barograph, T.B. Winter, whose business was originally transferred from John Cail, was later to become T.B. Winter and Son. Makers of fine mathematical, nautical, philosophical and optical instruments, the business, as T.B. Winter, occupied 55 Grey Street, Newcastle (1856-58), 27 Grey Street (1858-78) and 21 Grey Street, corner of High Bridge (1878-?) - all in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Advertised as the 'Oldest Established Opticians in the North England'.
