Sand Ridge School

Description

Sand Ridge School Probably built around 1860. Sand Ridge was an area primarily known as a stop on the Interurban Line, although earlier there was a Post Office there. Sometime after 1914, the school was enlarged and coat rooms were added to the front of the school. Sadie Tucker Kinsella taught there as did Sadie Udstein. The Sand Ridge School was one of the first to consolidate with the Minooka School system, but later withdrew, only to consolidate again in the 1940's.
