Portrait of Benjamin Winslow Dudley by Joseph Bush. Dr. Benjamin Winslow Dudley lived 1785 - 1870 and was a teacher and surgeon of the Transylvania Medical Department from 1809 to 1850. He was known for his operation of lithotomy, or removal of bladder stones. This portrait is painted from the waist and he has his left hand tucked in his waistcoat. There is another portrait of him by Jouett in the library.
