Believed to be Benjamin Gratz as a boy. Subject is sitting on a bench with a dog, probably a dacshund. Benjamin Gratz (1792-1884) was a board member of Transylvania and Gratz Park is named for him. The painting was gifted to the university in 1995 by Mrs R Warfield Gratz.
