Description

Iron triangular bladed arrowhead from the Roman site at Newstead (Trimontium)

Use

An arrowhead or point is the usually sharpened and hardened tip of an arrow, which contributes a majority of the projectile mass and is responsible for impacting and penetrating a target, as well as to fulfil some special purposes such as signalling.

Context

Trimontium was a military fort and as such, numerous artefacts such as Roman armour and weapons have been found at the fort.
