Use

Used to help remove the wick from a candle. May also have been used for cosmetic purposes.

Context

This pair of tweezers were found in Block XIII during James Curle's excavations.

...Tweezers were used to care for body hair. Plucked eyebrows were fashionable among women. Finding items like these, along with children’s shoes, indicates there were women and children at the fort. Senior officers were allowed to have family with them. The families of the ordinary soldiers probably lived in the annexes next to the fort.
