Description

This volume presents the first comprehensive review of Lancashire's Archaeology ever to be published. These papers cover the evidence for the settlement of the county from the end of the last Ice Age until the Industrial Revolution. The authors have drawn upon a wealth of previously unpublished archaeological and historical evidence, which was initially presented to the Archaeology of Lancashire Conference held at Lancaster University in 1996. This volume presents and expands upon the proceedings of that meeting. Contributors include David Shotter, Robert Middleton, Colin Haselgrove, Jason Wood and Richard Newman.
