It was used to decorate a saddle, likely for ceremonial occasions, between 80 and 100 AD.Context
Trimontium was a military fort, mainly comprised of cavalry forces. Numerous artefacts relating to horses, such as harness and saddle fittings, were found at the site. Found in Pit LV.Collection
