Spoked cart or chariot wheel from the Roman site at Newstead (Trimontium). Made of wood and iron. From the Roman Fort at Newstead, Roxburghshire. The hub was carved from a single piece of oak. The rim (felloe) of the wheel is made up from six joined sections. The treads were attached with wooden dowels. Wheel hub nearly complete 14 pieces of spokes.Use
