Name/Title

Der Römische Limes (The Roman Limes)

Secondary Title

Archäologische Ausflüge zwischen Rhein und Donau (Archaeological Excursions between the Rhine and the Danube)

Description

Der Römische Limes (The Roman LImes) is a guide that has long been the standard for excursions and trips along the Roman border wall. From the Rhine near Koblenz to the Danube not far from Regensburg, the Pfahlgraben (Palisade Ditch) and the Teufelsmauer (Devil's Wall) stretch across Germany. This section of the former Roman border fortifications is approximately 500 kilometers long. No other archaeological monument in Central Europe even comes close to these dimensions.
