Upper part of a lamellar arm guard of bronze, from the Roman site at Newstead (Trimontium), Roxburghshire, 80 - 180 AD

Use

Amour was used to protect the body from both sharp and blunt force trauma

Context

Trimontium was a military fort. As such, numerous artefacts have been recovered relating to Roman military items.
