Description

A transit token embossed with "GOOD FOR ONE CASH FARE" along the outer edge. The reverse side of the token is corroded to the point that any additional embossing is illegible. Tokens of similar size, shape, design, and verbiage were used for the New Orleans Street Car Line when it was owned and operate by New Orleans Railway and Light Company. This company operated all of the cities street car lines from 1905 to 1922, so it is possible that this token is associated with that period of operation.
