Note

Used from 1937 to 1873, Christian Gobrecht’s design was originally struck in the Philadelphia Mint without stars pictured on the front and the following year at the New Orleans Mint with stars. Throughout its production, the half dime went through many design changes. These changes included added stars, no drapery, added arrows, and a legend instead of stars.
