Iberville housing project excavation, lot #799, 1830s privy at Pig Ankle saloon. Pre-storyville in New Olreans vice district. Continued as popular jazz club through 20th century.

Widely produced ball clay smoking pipe. Long down stem, briar bowl shape, and floral motif indicate English origin or inspiration. Missing pieces that may have maker's mark or identifying spur on bowl. Steam smooth and free of markings or patterns.
