Letter - Robert Milner Bear to Mom, Mrs. John L. Bear (Postmarked Oct. 26, 1944) Postmark on envelope reads: US Navy, Oct. 26, 1944 | PM Envelope is an Air Mail envelope with an orange embossed Air Mail stamp worth 6¢. Stamp reads: US Postage via Air Mail in a circle around a single wing plane flying out of it. Under the plane it reads 6¢. The email is plain white and in lower left corner of envelope is a circle ink stamp reading: Passed by Naval Censor with the censor's initials inside the ink stamp circle. On the right lower side are two red Postage Due stamps, each one 3¢ with initials over each one showing postage page. On the center of the envelope is stamped in purple ink - Postage Due ...... Cents with the number 6 in pencil written in the blank space. Return Address: Robert M. Bear, CM 3/c 129th USNCB HDQ. Co. C/o Fleet P.O. San Francisco, Calif. Addressed to: Mrs. John L. Bear 475 W. Hill St. Wabash, Indiana The stationary is lightweight and is one page and written on only one side. The stationary shows at top a five pointed star. In each point is a number or letter that spells out 129CB for the 129th Construction Battalion. In that center of the star is the Seabee emblem of the fighting Bumble Bee over the top of a globe. Letter is a torn half page and written on only one side.
