Letter - Pfc. John C, Schmalzried to Arthur Haupert (Jan. 26, 1945) Envelope is white with a red, white, and blue strip running diagonally on the left side and reading "Via Air Mail" creating a return address area. The return address reads: Pfc. John C, Schmalzried Btry A. 920 FA Bn APO 95 C/O P.M. NY NY Addressed to: Arthur Haupert RR1 Urbana Indiana Over top of the stamp is the postmark. US Army Postal Service APO 95, Jan. 26, 1945. In the lower left is a censor's stamp reading: Passed by US Army Examiner #40377 and hand signed (Lt JS Darnell). The stamp in the top right is an Air Mail (6¢) stamp, red with a plane on it reading United States of America. The letter stationary is plain, unlined paper, with the letter written in pen. The letter is three pages long and written only on one side in cursive.
