Description

Sgt. Gordon H. Walck Company A 926th Signal Battalion Tactical Air Command WIA It seems he was present on D-Day plus 2 and helped to establish communications to the 9th Air Force. Newspapers say he was a “chief of a squad of teletype operators”. Entered into service February 12, 1942 and recieved his training at Fort McClellan, Alabama and New Orleans, LA. He went overseas May 1943 landing in England and attached to the 8th AF communications. He saw service there for a year before being attached to the 9th AAF TAC. He recieved a bullet wound to the right forearm sometime on April 22, 1945.
