Sgt. Bell enlisted with the British RAF “Eagle Squadron” in October 1941. He received training in California and then was sent to Canada and onto England.
He was a pilot for 10 years prior to entering the service.
In 1943, he was “one of 43 American Fliers who transferred to the American Air Forces from service with the Canadian and Polish Air Force.”
He then went on to serve as a Flight Officer and appears to have been killed in 1943 aboard the B-24D “Celhalopdos” with the 330th Bomb Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group on a non combat mission in England.Create Date
