Honorable Discharge from the United States Army for William Beekman. Discharged from Camp Grant, Illinois on Dec. 22, 1918. Document gives serial number, rank and location of service of the soldier. Place of birth, age, physical discription and occupation are also recorded. Document is signed by the Commanding Officer Colonel of Infantry. *Note: Unable to identify written name of the Officer. The front of the document also stamped by O.E. Born, the Register of Deeds, the Wisconsin Recognition Board allowing bonus payment of $50.00 and the stamp of Major G.E. Gray, Washington D.C., authorizing payment of $60.00. At the very top margin someone has written in pencil what apears to be "Farmer, Waupun". Back side of Honorable Discharge is the enlistment record. Details his service: when , date, rank, qualifications etc. Remarks about his service and signed by John D. Finn, 2nd Lieutenant, Infantry. Alex C. McKelvey, Capt. Q. M Corps. Dec 27,1918. Paid in Full $31.24. *Note: It is unkown what the "paid" amount may have been. Possibly a fee for filing the paperwork. The signature of F.R. Young, 2nd Lieut. Q.M.C. is at the bottom of the document. Stamped for approval for Victory Medal, signed by S.Clarke FEB 14, 1921. The document also shows Transportation issued as stamped by the C.&N. R.R.
